(Ont.), remarkable career and unwavering support, join us in celebrating this transition and extending our heartfelt congratulations to Aaron Palmer, while also raising a toast to Beverlee Melamed, whose illustrious career spanning over 45 years has shaped the very fabric of our practice. As Beverlee embarks on a well-deserved retirement, let us honor her enduring contributions in the field of Occupational Therapy and express our deepest gratitude for her invaluable mentorship and unwavering support.
Beverlee has brought a wealth of expertise and knowledge to her role as an Occupational Therapist, with an impressive career spanning over 45 years. For 30 years, she has successfully owned and operated a private practice providing occupational therapy, case management, and rehabilitation coaching services. It was in 2017 that Beverlee welcomed Aaron as an Occupational Therapy student. Upon Aaron's graduation in 2018, with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from D'Youville University in Buffalo, New York, he returned to Toronto and joined Melamed Palmer Inc., Innovative Rehab under Beverlee's mentorship. The bond between mentor and mentee grew stronger, and in November 2020, Beverlee made the pivotal decision to take Aaron on as a partner, signaling the beginning of the journey of passing the baton.
“For my succession plan, I had always hoped to be able to take on a younger and smarter person who shared my professional values, with both of us valuing and learning from the transition process.” states Beverlee.
Aaron expresses his deep gratitude to Beverlee for her mentorship, trust, and for presenting him with this invaluable opportunity. He states, "Sometimes life has a way of surprising us, leading us down unexpected paths and placing us in positions we never could have envisioned. As I reflect on my journey, from the eager student under the guidance of Beverlee to assuming full ownership and leadership of Melamed Palmer Inc., Innovative Rehab, I can't help but feel a mixture of awe, gratitude, and a tinge of disbelief. This remarkable transition represents not just a milestone in my career but a testament to the power of mentorship, trust, and seizing opportunities with both hands. I never saw myself in this position, but here I stand, ready to embrace the challenges and possibilities that lie ahead. I step into this new chapter with excitement and humility." Aaron is wholeheartedly embracing and expanding on Beverlee’s passion, commitment, and active involvement throughout the years within the community (including the Brain Injury Society of Toronto, Ontario Brain Injury Association, Ontario Rehab Alliance, various conferences, workshops, presentations, and fundraising events).
As Beverlee embarks on a well-deserved retirement, business operations will proceed without interruption. While enjoying her retirement, Beverlee will maintain her involvement with existing clients and provide ongoing support to Melamed Palmer Inc., Innovative Rehab.
